Two surprising finds at Toys R Us

Post by Rhhick » Fri, 02 Nov 2001 07:33:28

I hadn't been in a Toys R Us in awhile, so first I was disoriented by the once
familiar store being totally re-arranged (a lot of dead-ends & diagonals).
ANYWAY, my first surprise was seeing what was formerly one of the best deals
around, the Estes "Blast-Off" pack has nudged up to $28 or $29 (was it $24 or
$25 before?). I guess it's still a pretty good deal though. Do those Quest bulk
packs come in C6-FIVE?
The second (& bigger) surprise was stumbling across articulated (ie 20 moving
parts/limbs)  action figures from the movie "Reservior Dogs". Mr. Black, Mr.
White, Mr. Pink...... I thought that movie was a little severe for the Toys R
Us target audience.  --  Richard "as severe as peanut butter for breakfast"

They come in three flavors: A6-4, B6-4, and C6-5.  Each includes 25
motors, 30 Tiger Tail II igniters (with Tiger Tacs), and 75 sheets of
Quest's stiffish wadding.  Best bargain going in rocket motors, IMO.

All Estes motor prices went up. For the most shocking prices, visit
Michael's. $49.99 for the BOFP.

Those occasional 40 or 50% off coupons have never been more useful. I have my
mother in law save the ones she finds in the paper as well, so combined w/ my
own, one trip to Michaels = 2 BOFP for the price of 1. And maybe an inexpensive
min-diameter  kit to blast into oblivion on a 'C' engine :).

Hmmm, I thought it was $44.99... Still that's on the order of $2 per motor
for A-B-C stuff. Ouch! The Quest bulk packs I just picked up AT RETAIL are
about half that.

I can't recall the last time I saw 2 BOFPs onthe shelf at Michaels.

I did find a bunch at Hobby Lobby a while back. One or two marked normally,
but 3 were marked 6.99. Guess how many I bought?

That's why I said "went up".

;-)

They are raising the prices as new stock arrives in each individual store.
You may find C6-3 for a cheaper price than C6-5 until they synchronize.

I saw 8 BOFP on the shelf at a Michael's yesterday. I left them and got some
"old price" C6-5s.

Bob,

I saw some BOFP at the local Michael's about a month ago. The only had two
on the shelf, though. I think I got pretty lucky, though, because I RARELY
see them at Michael's any more...

Regards,

Bryan Chuck
