4" Fat Boy nose cone

I want to build a 4" Fat Boy that I could fly on small F motors (F20, F39).
Does anyone know who would make a nose cone for this size?  Alternately,
could someone point me to any resources on the web for constructing my own
nose cone?

Thanks,

I built one this past winter.  It is kind of heavy because I used a
short 38mm mount and a lot of nose weight.  Mine flys on F40 and larger
motors with room for an H123 or H242.  I used the 4" Mosquito nose cone
from Scotglas.  Check out http://www.scotglas.com  The cone is a bit
expensive at $30.

Why make it 4" diameter?  Many folk have flow stock size Fat Boys on
that size motor, and you get a lot more performance...  B)

I have one of those too!  29mm MMT, one wrap of 4oz glass, G10 fins.  My
favorite motor in it is a G25.  Nice long smokey burn.

The 4" is intended for low and slow flights for presentations and demos,
particularly where space is limited.  I did a presentation at my kids camp
last week and I ended it by launching my Onyx on an F20.  The kids loved it
but it was a bit high for the space we had and I think they'd like it even
more if it were bigger and it didn't go quite as high.

I'm also planning a dual deployment version of one of the Super Big Berthas
I just received for the same purpose.

Bob,

I construted my 4" FB using a 4" Maximum Thrust nosecone, PML QT,
and G-10 fins. It will lift-off low and slow on a J-90, and will really
scoot on a J-460.

Bob,

I have quite a few modified Fat Boys and the only real mods I made to mine were
to change the fins to G10. Other than that, it's stock CR's, BT, and NC. Of
course the shock cord is Kevlar with a Nomax chute protector. They are also
constructed with a helpful amount of epoxy. It flies on G125's and performs
beautifully. The only other mod I would make to fly on some of the H motors or
even the 38mm motors is to use G10 or wood CR's. Just make sure to get the
right weight in the nosecone for stability. Generally, the individual Fat Boy
is specifically designed for a particular motor.
