Hi All.

I have just about completed my first BIG rocket and I'm concearned about how
to launch it.  I have an Estes porta pad.  The model I just completed weighs
14 oz is 50.1 inches in length and has a diameter of 1.625 inches.  Initially
I will be using a D12-3 (with an adapter) if motor size plays into the
problem??? I may move into the E F or even G size with time as that is the
motor selection that is suggested in the kit.  One other piece of info is that
lauch lug starts 10.5 inches from the bottom of the rocket.  Any ideas would
be appreciated.

This is  a LOC Legacy Kit..

For starters, get a better suited launch pad. The Estes Porta Pad is not
meant for 1 pound rockets on Fs and Gs [as you plan to launch it with in
time, right?]. The only other thing I can think of is to find your local
rocket club and see if they have heavier duty pads at their club
launches.
