Here it is

At last

RMR DesCon 5

Unfortunately, Dave Lee is gone somewhere and he's not to be found.  He
popped up briefly a while back then disappeared again.

In the meantime it was decided that Dave's tradition, which allowed
modelers to showcase their talents via this newsgroup, should carry on.

Here's what's happening:

Prizes are being donated by a slew rocket companies: IgniterMan, Rogue
Aerospace, US Rockets, NARTS, RocketVision, and MaxQ Rocketry.
Hopefully more on their way.

The contest director will rotate from contest to contest, if you want to
sign up to run a future contest you may do so via the below link

This next contest is "the mystery designer" so no one knows the secret
identity of the rocketeer/creator until the results are published here.

See the below link for details on how to enter your design

Contest opens August 1 and closes October 31, 1999 with results
hopefully back to the group by mid November

Webspace for entries will be provided by Andrew Bronfein of BlackHawk R
and D

If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask

Please Take a Peek!

Uuuummmm....Bob? I think I know what a "design contest" is, but what's a
DesCon?

Well Gene,

Not really sure but I think it has to do with some English infatuation
with Desi Arnaz.  You know how the French reportedly love Jerry Lewis?
Well, I guess Desi is Jerry's counterpart with the royalists.  Maybe
it's that wild conga music and the words to "Bobaloo" are pretty easy to
pronounce.

Desi/Congas = DesCon

Or maybe it's an allusion to DefCon 1, 2, 3, 4?

By the way, the site has moved to the server in BlackHawks recroom at:
