Changes at LOC/Precision?

Have there been some sort of major changes at LOC/Precision?

Their web site lists a new address and phone numbers.  I called to get the
estimated altitude on a kit, and the answering machine said something
about "Thanks for calling the new LOC".  No mention of the LOC/Precision
name.

A very reliable source told me that a member of the Tri-City Skybuster
(Cleveland area NAR club) has purchased  the business.  As this person is
very involved with the hobby, I'm sure he will to a great job running the
company.

As we have our club business meeting Sunday,  I would expect a more firm
announcement.

I have chatted with new owner over the net many many times and I can assure
all of you he is a great guy and will do a great job running the company.
He's probably the nicest guy i have encountered in this hobby.

He's also an occasional poster to RMR...

He'd better get his rear to our next launch... well, of course if we
don't get rained out yet again!

Let's see if we can figure out his identity in the same fashion as we
did when the esteemed Mr. Commentator came online!

Does anyone have any idea why the company was sold?

I'm not sure why I care so much, as I don't much care for LOC's large
rockets.  The small rockets are nice, but these days, a rocket is only big
enough if it requires a LEUP to fly.

Okay, I'll admit I just bought a LOC Aura today for a launch with some
scouts, since I can't fly HPR with them.

I can't play either as I too know who he is.  I'm surprised this isn't public
knowlege as he's told several regulars on one of the chat groups.  :-(

He's a great guy and will be a positive force for the hobby (if the 80 hour work
weeks don't kill him first!)

Alright, I'll give y'all a couple of hints...

He sacrificed a LOC 429SS to the corn gods at a recent MTMA launch...

He's also a master of unplanned, but successful airstarts...

Changes at LOC/Precision?

Brian

Thanks for reminding me - I need to change the answering machine.
The company is still called LOC/Precision - we are in a NEW larger building.
On the 8th of this month I did purchase the company.
We have been low key about the announcement because we did not want to
answer a lot of questions during the move.  One of our keys to success is
our ability to ship ANYTHING in ANY QUANTITY to our dealers within 24 hours
of order in excess of 95% of the time.  We did make our goal to keep this
commitment during the move.
A press release is in the works.  The new phone number 440-546-0413 and the
new fax number 440-546-7942 both work well.  We thank everyone for your
interest in our company and look forward to serving your needs.

Barry,
It's great that you bought LOC.  Now you'll have a plentiful supply of body
parts for your famous/infamous crashes. ;-)
Best of luck with the company.  I used to buy some LOC stuff from my local Rider
Hobby Shop, but after talking with the owner, learned that they didn't provide
very good service to him so he dropped them.  Now, he only carries Estes and
Custom, yuck! So, Mr President, does that mean that I'll get to see you at more
Goraj Launches now?
