: I have just bought from a car boot sale, a JETEX 50 motor with 3
: boxes of
: solid fuel pellets, complete with "washers and gauzes"
: Can any of you "oldies" (it was made in 1962 apparently)tell me
: which way
: round to fit the washers and gauzes, and how to light it????
: Thanx for any replies.
I'm doing this from memory, so I'll probably get it wrong... The gauze goes
in contact with the fuel pellet and the washer (it's lead, as I recall) goes
inside the nozzle/cap. Lighting it is a fairly complex matter. If you
don't have any Jetex wick (usually packed in a flat metal can) you may be
out of luck. What you do is place a spiral of wick between the gauze and
pellet when loading, and then when ready to fly (I'll assume you have a
glider designed for Jetex power...) you insert a piece of wick through the
nozzle and light it.
