JETEX and Doyle Jet

Post by Art Loy » Tue, 09 Sep 1997 04:00:00

Back in June 1997, I mailed a check for $110 to "Al Doyle", DOYLEJET,
PO Box 60311, Houston, TX 77205  (Tel: 281 443 3409) for a variety of
JETEX products.

In spite of my check being immediately cashed, and several telephone
calls to Mr. Doyle, to advise him that I had not received any of his
merchandise, now 3 months later, I still have not received anything from
this company (individual).

Original telephone conversations were met with false shipment claims
from DOYLE JET, and now Mr. Doyle refuses to return any of my telephone
calls.

Just a warning to all.

I would like to see this reference dropped from the FAQ listings.

I can't comment one way or another concerning DOYLE-JET (I've never dealt
with them), but I _can_ recommend a reputable supplier of the new Jet-X
motors and supplies.  I ordered a Jet-X 'starter outfit' (Jet-X motor, 16
fuel pellets, 3 seal washers, and a roll of wick) from Hobby Supply
South, which I received promptly.  Peter Alway also received his Jet-X
'starter outfit' just a few days after order placement.  They have five
Jet-X products--the 'starter outfit,' the Jet-X motor (with mounting clip)
by itself, packs of 40 fuel pellets, 6' lengths of Jet-X wick, and packs
of 10 seal washers.  They also carry several stick fuselage, profile
fuselage, and "3-D" fuselage Jet-X models.  Their address is:

Hobby Supply South
1720 Mars Hill Road, Suite 8365
Acworth, GA 30101

Tel: (770) 974-0843
Fax: (770) 974-6243

I have no financial stake in Hobby Supply South.  I'm just a VERY
satisfied customer.

That is not surprising, the same thing happened to me several years ago. I
spent a year trying to get my order from DOYLE JET. I heard every excuse
from "we had a fire that destroyed our records" to "UPS couldn't deliver
the order and sent it back". I never did get my order or my money back.

Hmmm...sounds as if someone needs to explain a few laws and regulations
to Mr. Doyle -- even if he's shipping by UPS, accepting checks through
the USPS mails means he's subject to Postal regulations, and the
description of the situation above sounds an awful lot like it's in
violation of the very same laws people were using just a few weeks ago
to castigate Jerry Irvine concerning the RMR t-shirts...

...does this mean Jon Dunbar is going to start smearing Doyle Jet on
the group?

If this isn't already in Part 02 of the FAQ, it ought to be...
