Just thought i'd post a message about how cool this guy is...
He gave me a Fatboy just for giving him a lead on an out of production
rocket...
He got the Terrier Sandhawk and I got the Fatboy... I'm happy...

Thanks again Darrell,
Ryan Shauers

See, Cato and you others? This is what rocketry is about, sharing. Doing
something as a group. Is it sinking in yet?

Let me expound on this story:

Ryan was lurking around his local ***tore, wanting a rocket for
himself.  He wasn't greedy, he just wanted a Fatboy.  He discovered a
Terrier Sandhawk there, sitting on the top shelf, at list price --
$34.99.  Cool, but not what he wanted.  He shared that fact with R.m.r.

I wrote Ryan and asked him where he found it, and he provided me with a
phone number.  I called -- sure enough, a T-S at list price.  I gave
them my credit card information and they sent it in the mail.  So, while
scalpers are getting $70-$100 for a kit that is still on some store
shelves, I was able to get one for $35.  A reward was most certainly
justified.

I asked Ryan what he really wanted, and again, he wasn't greedy.  "Just
a Fatboy!"  I called Discount Rocketry, spoke to Kevin, placed the
order, and it was in the mail.  Ryan was elated, I was elated, we all
got what we wanted and I am still $20+ to the good.  A little 'good'
goes a long way.

John Lyngdal is that way.  I was looking for a T-S earlier, and he
spotted one in a local store in Oregon.  He would like to have one for
himself, but he knew I wanted one, so he bought it and sent it to me for
list price.  He did without so he could let me have it.  Now that is
unselfish.  So, John, now that I have two, I am willing to send you one
back for the same price you so graciously send one to me.  Deal, friend?

How about if you want to do and share but the "group"/clique unfairly
punishes you for it? Like Kaplow (and probably others) vs. TRA or me and the
regional fanboys.

BTW- Darrell Mobley's Rocketry On Line is in a tie with JimZ for the coolest
model rocket site on the 'net.
