My friend just bought a loc precision Aura. He didn't glue the shock
cord mount in far enough and the nose cone shoulder sticks out about an
8th of an inch. Will this effect the rockets preformance?

I did the same thing. It wont effect anything as long as the nose isnt too
loose. What I did to correct mine was to shave the corner  of the nose cone to
fit flush against the shock cord mount. Then just line it up before putting it
on the pad.

Rocket rule #27: Put the shock cord mount as far down inside the tube as you
can. There is no such thing as too far. If you can get it way down, you
don't have to worry about the chute catching on the mount.

There is a "not far enough". And it changes every time you prang the rocket
and have to cut 2" off the front :-(
