LOC Stovi Question

LOC Stovi Question

Post by Rocket90 » Wed, 14 Feb 2001 12:40:55

I bought a Loc Stovi, but I haven't started to build it yet. I have one
question. I have decided to build it with the 29mm motor option. To do this you
"shave" off some of the outer "booster tank" tubes that go around the motor
mount tube. The instructions say to cut off .46 inches off each tube the long
way. My question is how to measure this distance. I am assuming thet this is
including the arc around the tube. but the instructions seem to say that is is
a slice.

Any input would be appreciated before I start cutting.

Stop the cutting!!!!  LOL
There was a guy who cut just enough to slide the tubes into the main body tube,
maintaining the full 24 mm tubes at the business end. This gave him the option
of various cluster launches. Sort of just the opposite of what the instructions
say about slicing the tubes. He had to 'cap' each tube  at the top/outside the
main bt. Of course, I read this the day after I sliced mine to fit inside the
bt.  :-(   I can still fit 18mm engines in each tube, but 24's would have been
'way' better.
If no one pipes in here soon with a good explanation, give me a hollar.
I'll do my best. But right now, I feel like I would just confuse you. Maybe I
can get this digital camera to work and send a few pics of what I mean.
