New hybrid cluster record

  Hello group,

Congradulations to  Wayne Mrazek of Now Hybrids.  Saturday June 14th at
Roc Stock 17, Lucern Dry Lake, Wayne successfully flew a 7 hybrid motor
cluster. Using 4 R.A.T.T. H-70s and 3 R.A.T.T. I-80s.  All motors lit
perfectlly together, now Wayne is thinking of a 9 motor Cluster.  Also a at Roc
Stock 4 R.A.T.T. K-240s were flown  (not a cluster), 2 I-80s, 2 H-70s, 2 I-90s,
a K-350 tribrid, an M-500 tribrid  note these were for beta testing.  We also
static tested the new R.A.T.T. 38mm I-160 and J-350 these used Marcus's non
pyro system, which works okay but the fill tube likes to stick to the stainless
oxygen tube. And last but not least was a fx sparkie K-240 that looks really
cool at night.
It was also the record for the most R.A.T.T. motors fired over 1 weekend.

Congrats Dave.  Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, and at a ROC stock no
less :)

Wow! That's quite an accomplishment! Congrats, Wayne!

Haven't personally seen on in action yet, but those are cool motors -- a very
clever system.

A sparky hybrid? Neat!

Excellent!  RATT motors are a no go here in the UK at present due to a
legal/technical issue on cutting fuel grains as starter grains.  I'd be
interested in Marcus's non
pyro system.  Anyone got info or links?

Thanks,

Steve.

Many thanks Marcus.  I'll repost this to the Uk.tech.rocketry newsgroup as
this will be of great interest to quite a few people.

I've found that in flight use, as opposed to static tests, the tendency for
the nylon fill hose to melt to the inside of the oxygen stinger is reduced
by about 50%.  Still, I keep spare GOX stingers around, and just swap in
new ones.  The gummed-up ones can be cleaned out at a leisurely pace between
launches.  Usually, it's just the top little bit of the fill tube that
sticks--heat it up and twist, and it usually lets go.

Way to go Wayne and Dave!

I have a new Pyro-free ignition sequence that doesn't use a high voltage
spark. The ignition sequence to date has yet to have a failure or a
miss-fire, anyone that want's FREE plans, please feel free to contact me at,
