Well, I found a new electronics surplus store in town, and spent almost
2 hours there. Talk about some bizarre stuff for launch controllers!
Anyone remember the indicator lights popular late 60's to early 70's --
you know, they were heavily chromed, and had big jeweled color lenses?
I founs some of these in "3X superscale", with automotive looking bayonet
bulbs, apparently never used, for a whopping 50 cents. The bulbs cost
me an extra dime. Found out they were 120VAC, so I may use them for
household stuff if I cannot find 12VDC in their size/pin config.
Founs some really cool French made lights, boxed, with instructions, that
fit into a 29mm hole (hmmmm ...). These were also 50 cents, with bulb.
All hardware was 5 cents (and I paid a buck for 4 each 4-40 screws at
hobby shop). Beautiful toggle switches for 50 cents on up.
Best find:
Orignal boxed AG-1B bulbs from GE (pre-Sylvania?), a dozen to a box,
for 10 cents per bulb. I bought all 23 of them (as in almost 2
boxes). I'm not sure they have more, but it was the most fun I've
had in awhile, and I got a bag full of stuff for $5.00.
Excuse me, I just had to tell someone ...
