LOC Onyx Question.

Post by Bryan Chuc » Sun, 10 Dec 2000 16:06:05

Hi folks.

Would someone please tell me how long the launch lug is on the Onyx. Also,
how far up from the rear of the airframe does it attach.

I'm trying to finish my 38mm Onyx clone and want to be as authentic as
possible.

TIA!

Bryan,

The launch lug on the LOC Onyx is 4 inches long.  There is no measurement
given in the instructions other than "Epoxy the launch lug directrly on the
right edge of the premarked launch lug guide line on the main airframe."  With
that said I measured mine and it comes to 4 5/8 inches from the end of the
airframe.

I hope this helps...

Chuck
The Onyx uses a 4"x1/4" launch lug.  It is a pre-marked beginners kit with
the bottom of the lug starting at 4.25" from the bottom of the rocket.
I would suggest weighting the nose cone for 38mm - but assume you know this.
Just be sure to tell 'em at the RSO that it is a CLONE.
