NARAM - Check out Daily Updates/Pics

Post by Jeff » Mon, 31 Jul 2000 04:00:00

I'll be trying to post daily updates and pictures to the NARAM website.
Check it out if you want to see what's going on. I may not get too much up
there on Sunday - but I will today and the rest of the week.

NARAM - Check out Daily Updates/Pics

Hello Jeff,

Thanks for the pics & updates.  I really liked this one:

http://www.naram2000.org/daily/day2/pic12.html

Did anybody tell him about the waiver before hand or did he just show
up with it anyway?

TTYL,
Andy

Andy,

Glad you like the pictures. Greg is a member of COSROCS (one of the
sponsoring clubs for NARAM), and yes he did know about the waiver. Actually,
even with the 10,000 foot waiver we originally had discussed - this rocket
would probably be out of luck. Unless he could possibly keep it under that
with a single stage flight or something like that.

Andy,

Glad you like the pictures. Yes - Greg knew about the waiver situation
before hand. Actually - even with our original proposal of a 10,000 foot
waiver this rocket would probably be out of luck. Loaded the way he plans on
flying it - it would go anywhere from 25,000 - 50,000 feet. It is a great
looking rocket though  . . . I'm glad he brought it by for the people at
NARAM to enjoy.

Andy,

Glad you like the pictures. Yes, Greg knew about the waiver situation before
showing up. Actually, even with a 10,000 foot waiver this rocket probably
wouldn't fly. The way he told me he plans to fly it would put it between
25 - 50,000 feet. It sure looks good though . . . I'm glad he brought it by
for the people at NARAM to enjoy.

Andy,

I'm glad you like the pictures. Yes, Greg knew about the waiver situation
(he's a COSROC's member I believe). Even with a 10,000 foot waiver - I don't
think this rocket would make it. The way he told me he wanted to configure
it puts it between 25 and 50,000 feet. It is a nice looking rocket though .
. . I'm glad he brought it by for the people at NARAM to enjoy.

Sorry about the multiple posts . . . I'm using a different news program and
it takes a little getting used to ;-)

I'd assumed that we were finally going to have that long-awaited model
rocket IMAX film.

Now THAT would be a neat-o scale-up project.  The film would have to be
dedicated to Herb Desind.

FYI, I talked to the builder of the rocket. He still needs to get his Level
3 certification before he can fly that rocket (He has already flown a rocket
with a full L motor more than once, so that shouldn't be a major stumbling
block). I forget the exact motor configuration of the first stage, I seem
to remember something like 3 M's and 2 K's, but I could be wrong. It will
then stage to an N2000!
