Ok. I had the coolest week of my life. The summer camp that I mostly go
to has a week called specialty week. They give the camper choices of
specialty's to participate in. One of the choices was Big Rockets. When I
saw that me jaw dropped to the floor. We had used F and G motors on a
29/40-120 RMS. It was a hoot. We had 8 large rocket kits to chose from. I
got an Aerotech Mirage kit. MAN it is big! Not only that, it was a breeze to
build. Through the week we had some model rockets to fly also. Plus the
instructor had an Aerotech Astrobee D and a NCR Archer. We lost the Astrobee
in the thick brush but did get the top part. Also my manic went 2154ft on a
E15-7 and I got it back in good order. Now to the heart breaker. On Thursday
we all (another camper, the instructor, and me) dictated to fly the Mirage
on a F40-4 to see the flight performance. We got to the pasture and set up
the equipment(mantis pad, NCR controller and a 8 ft carbon launch rod) and
loaded the F40. 2 craperheads later, it launched. Boost was nice and with a
graceful assent. For people who don't know, the mirage comes back in 2
pecies. A booster and the rest. Anyway, after the rocket ejected I saw the
top parachute open all the way, I look over and see the booster with no
parachute out. It whistled the entire way down. Than SPLAT. the whole tube
was crushed, 2 of the fins where broken off, the motor mount was fine but
one centering ring was cracked. I did find the culprit, the parachute was
caught on the eye***and that's why it had not opened.

My question: Are the fins from Giant Leap the same size or close the
fins on the Mirage?  Im talking about fin size #7
I will order parts form Giant leap because I love there service and
quality of parts.
