Loc Legacy Parachute Question

Loc Legacy Parachute Question

Post by MODROCK » Wed, 03 Mar 1999 04:00:00

Just built my new Loc Legacy kit and have a question. The parachute That came
with it was aprox. a 15" chute. Is this enough chute for a 14oz. rocket? My
thinking is that the chute is small because of the possible high altitudes for
this rocket. Still it seems that it might come down to fast and hard.

Has anyone flown this kit with the stock 15" chute? If so, what was your
experience?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.By the way, I did epoxy rivet the fins
for added strength.

I've recovered my Loc Legacy on its stock chute many times with no damage.  It's
one tough rocket.

Have fun!

My parachute design page has a spreadsheet that can calculate parachute
size for weight, or can give you fall rate if you tell it weight & your
chute size. It can be found from my home page below.
