Apollo 11 NASA Mission Reports Questions

Post by David Po » Tue, 14 Aug 2001 01:10:09

I was reading the Apollo 11 book from Apogee books and wondered how long did
the seismometer continue to work after it was deployed.  Do any scientists
continue to use the laser reflector which was set up?  I also wondered what
happened to the ascent stage of the Eagle after Neil and Buzz transfered back
to the Columbia.

IIRC, the ascent stage was sent back into the lunar surface specifically as
a test of the seismometer.
