LOC Aura on a E23T?

Post by Kevin Bees » Sun, 26 May 2002 10:22:09

I'm having computer probems. Can someone do a quick Rocksim for me.
Looking for altitude and optimum delay for a LOC Aura on an E23T.
Hoping to launch it tomorrow.

Thanks,

Kevin, with WRASP, she hits1254' feet, with a delay of meduim being optimal.

I don't have rocsim, but this might help?

Kevin,
the Aura file I have has the empty rocket weight at 8.266 oz. Running this
through the sim with an E23 I get 1254 feet, with a 7.1 second optimal
delay. I have Rocksim set to achieve stable flight at 29.5 mph, which
happened 42.3 inches up the launch rod.

HTH,
Jon

I just flew a LOC Aura on an AT E15-7 yesterday.  4ft rod was fine, but I
had a "bonus delay".  This seems to be very common in the smaller AT motors.
(I had an E15-4 destroy my Saturn V 10 years ago with a late ejection.)
The Aura whistled into a short tree down range and deployed the 'chute nicely
over a branch.  Retrieved it easily and no damage.  This thing has survived
F and G flights (even a G125).  Time for a single-use H!

   Fins? Who needs fins?!  ;)
Besides, I really like my 29mm casing.  I've had it since 1990.
I'm thinking more of a non-certified on-my-own flight with an old
H90(?) AT single-use motor.  A good test for a cheap locator and lots
of farmland.
Expect an order for another Aura soon. ;)

Too easy to lose the case. I'll use one of my H125-14's in it :-)
