AMRAAM Kit

Post by Roger Smi » Wed, 31 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I used to work on the joint AMRAAM project so I'm interested in
building a model of it.  I've noticed that it is a popular design with
the high-power bunch, but I don't really want to get out of the A-D
(okay, maybe E <grin>) engine range.  So, is there a model rocket kit
of the AIM-120 available?

I'm not sure my skills are up to building one from scratch (yet).

I'm not certain, by I think there's one from The Launch Pad with dual
24mm mounts -- it would fly pretty well on a pair of D12-5s, though I
gather it needs nose weight for stability.

A few people have e-mailed me directly (thanks!) to recomment that
kit.  I'll look into it.  It sounds like what I am looking for.
