OT: Prayers Needed please

Post by Cec » Tue, 21 Feb 2006 11:17:09

Wow, I haven't checked the NG in a couple of days and have 211 new
messages!!  Forgive me, but I will not be reading them all for a while.
Sadly, one of our furbabies is very ill.  Toby, our youngest (5mths) is in
hospital with parvovirus.  It is really quite distressing, and I am so upset
about it.

We have 2 other dogs at home too, so we're hoping that they stay healthy.

I have to bleach everything from the front fence to the light fittings
inside the house!!  I'm going to be busy cleaning everything for the next
few days.  Please say some prayers for my darling little pooch, I don't know
what I'd do if I lost him.  We're still grieving over our dear cat that went
over the Rainbow Bridge in July last year!!  Toby has to stay in hospital,
on a drip for the next few days, and just wait and see if he will pull
through.  There is no cure for parvo, the vet says they will just treat his
symptoms as they arise.  Please God let him make it!~

luv Cec...xxx

I am so sorry to hear this Cec!  I know from experience how devastating it
is when one of our furbabies gets sick.  I hope that Toby gets better really
soon.  All the cleaning must be a pain as well expecially as you  must
thinking of the reason you are cleaning as you are doing it.

OH Cec, I can not imagine all that cleaning!! Just make sure you wear
protective clothing. I had to do that with rabbit pens a few years ago.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours as FURBABIES are family
too and a blessing from God.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.  It really
means so much to know that there is a group of so many supportive and
wonderful people all around the world praying for my little furbaby.
I spoke to the vet this morning, and Toby is still on a drip for
rehydration, he is still not able to stand for very long (he can't hold
himself up) and he is not keeping any food down at all.  The vet said he was
quite sick thru the night and basically we just have to let the virus run
it's course.  I asked if he thought I should be preparing for the worst, he
said, "I think he will make it, we just need to stay on top of things".
Well, let me tell you, I really needed to hear the vet say those few words,
I'm really stressed out (I think all this bleach has gone to my head!!)
Patience is something I can do, I don't care how long it takes, or how much
$$ it costs, I just want my baby to be ok.
It's hard for DFS to understand the situation too, he keeps asking me if
Toby will die, and I've said I don't know cos I didn't want to lie to him.
He has been very difficult lately too, but I know that sadness effects
people differently.  Hopefully he has a better day today.
Thanks again, EVERYONE.  I will keep you informed of any new developments.
much love,
Cec...xxx

My thoughts are with you and your furbabies, especially the little one.
Sounds like there is much hope for him.
