Well one of the main reasons I was out this past spell and been fighting
depression issues was over all the media info over miltary health care
and issues. It is not something that is prevalent with today's military,
but has been since Reagon started Reagonomics in mid 80's and miltary
budget cuts.

Anyhow the back, neck and shoulder problems and afflilated pain that I
have had some 20 years now has a reason it comes to find out. I
mentioned last fall of the problems I started and I went to the dr. They
did a mri, the first that I have had. VA told me several years ago they
did not fee that my 'sympthoms' did not negate the cost.It is one reason
that I quit more or less their sorry system and been "living" with my
problems.

Anyhow about 4 weeks ago I had to go back to dr as the bad pain in the
rght arm and neck returned. I have had a constant stiff neck and
recurring headache a lot.

Well after all these years, it turns out in my neck I have 2 bulging
discs and one torn one. In my mid back there is one that they are not
sure what is up?!

When the dr told me the "bad" news, I was mad, then got emotional. After
leaving I thought about it this way, yes it is bad news, but good in now
I have a reason to persue a disability thru the VA.

Today I had the first visit with a civilain neurologist/pain management
specialist. He told me that first he has to send me to another specilist
as he fears I have two separate problems, either of  them being bad. Not
only is the disc problem there and being bad in sythpoms but I may also
have a ulna myopathhy(?) in the right arm. If the arm problem is
diagnosed as separate the only thing that can relieve that is surgery.

He did not iterate anything more about the back and neck. He also did
not prescribe me anything for the pain for th one thing he was, I can
not take due to other health problems.

So that is my major thing getting me and got me in a rut. I do not sleep
well at night, NOT that I have in some time and am just plain worried to
death!

Well sorry this is long as usaul and wanted to let the MANY in here that
are personal to me knw what has been going on with me. I have spoken
with a coule about the mental issues thing and waiting stil to see the
appropriate dr for that.

Thanks All for listening,
((HUGS!))

Poor Dave.  It's not fun having a stiff neck.  It's happened to me a few
times when I popped something out and had to go to the Chiropractor. I hate
going there, but I know he always makes it better.  I hope that they can
help you soon.  Sounds like you have been in pain for quit a while.  Are you
still able to work.  Hey, just think.  If you did get disability you would
maybe be able to stay at home and get some scrapping done.  But then on the
other hand, you wouldn't be traveling all the time and get to visit all of
us. I sure hope you get to feeling some relief soon.  You better get some
sleep tonight.

Hugs
Shannon

Having suffered with & been treated for neck & carpal tunnel issues, I
have a small sense of the pain you've been in & the frustration that
accompanies it.

Sure hope the doctors find & fix the problems with a maximum of speed
& a minimum of discomfort to you (hassle & money-wise, as well as in
regards to pain).

Keep us posted. Good to see you back online!

So sorry to hear about the health issues, but hopefully now something
can be done to improve the conditions. I've had trouble with my neck and
back for years (due to car accidents with illegal aliens, no insurance,
funfunfun--NOT) and insomnia and it's miserable. :*( Also BTDT wondering
what is going on when I was diagnosed with 'unexplained' infertility for
several years in the '90s. Glad you finally got a real diagnosis! That's
a step forward in the right direction.

We'll keep you in our prayers that your physical and mental issues will
be relieved soon. Remember we are here if you need to
vent/rant/whatever, you aren't the Lone Ranger, okay?

Take care, and it's good to have you back.

Dave,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. My brother has had depression for
years. He finally got some meds from the VA. Plus they have him going to a
class every week. It has really helped him a lot. He still has days where he
doesn't want to be around people.

Take care.

Dave,
Sorry to hear about you having medical problems. Hopefully this doctor can
get you headed in the right direction.
J and M ask about you every time we pass the Black Buggy. Told them one of
these days you'd be back in the neighborhood.
Take care and take it easy.
Huggs,
Sandy

Dave,

I wanted to tell you that I'm thinking of you. I'm sorry the VA has
been such a $(#$(#% in the past. I hope you will be able to get them
to work with you now. Will pray for you and a solution to the
problems.

Dear Dave,

My dad had the same problem with the VA in Corning NY but he
petitioned his State Senator to help him and he included all the
documentation he could find regarding his condition.

It took a couple of months of letter writing but he is finally getting
the medical attention he needs.  Like any poorly run company you have
to make the higher ups realize that having their heads up their butts
isn't a good thing and a fart isn't a beautiful spring breeze.

I wish you all the best of luck.  My dad also just reminded me that
they will try to pull the "pre-existing condition" b***s**t" just tell
them that the injury came at their ignorant expense.

Your injury came as you were fighting for their freedoms and ability
to be free.  My dad, who has a warped sense of humor, proved the point
by saying if it wasn't for his fathers, the young man would be
"speaking german or dead since he is Jewish (he had a star of david on
a chain), so young man you should be thanking me instead of giving me
a hard time."

I'm sure there is a little fight left in you. good luck and feel
better.  At your next hotel stop see if there is a hot tub it should
help.

xoxoxo
Kate (& DH Larry)
