OT: Question about Babies--bad pregnancies

Post by Patrici » Wed, 09 Jun 2004 00:37:22

In the other thread you were all talking about being sick during pregnancy
and some of you not being sick during pregnancy.  I was wondering, since
supposedly birth control pills release hormones to your body that make
your body think you are pregnant, if there is any correlation between
being sick over or unable to take birth control pills and being sick
during pregnancy?  I guess I'm wondering if those of you who were sick
during pregnancy
were also sick on BCP (if you used any) and if those of you that weren't
sick during pregnancies had any really bad reactions to BCP?

I wasn't on BCP before I had Abby and I started taking them after I had her.
I felt a little sick for a couple days of taking the pills but that was
normal. After that I was fine.

I got really sick during the first few days of taking BCP and the doctor
changed me to a lower dosage that made the nausea go away.  But I still got
sick during both of my pregnancies.

Well, I remember a general feeling of occasional nausea.  Nothing that
stopped me from taking the pill or from eating!  I was VERY sick during my
pregnancies.  I didn't lose weight like some woman do during pregnancy, but
I did gain the bear minimum.

Oh that jogged my memory.  One time the doctor gave me some pills he had
samples of in his office.  I'm thinking cool I just saved some money.  After
the 2nd month I went in to see the doctor and got the Nurse Practioner (sp?)
I was complaining of nausea and *** tenderness.  She ask what pill I was
taking and I showed her and she was shocked the doctor gave them to me.  She
said these are way too high a dose for you.  They are made for woman that
are very athletic and not very feminine.  She obviously that's not you.  She
got me on a lower dose and I felt WAY better.  So, I think if you're having
problems talk to the doctor about your dose.  It shouldn't make you feel
miserable.

I was never sick on BCP, and I was only a little nauseated w/my first
pregnancy--never threw up.  During the first three months of my second
pregnancy, however, I was pretty sick.  Threw up a lot.  So I don't
think it has any correlation..HTH!

I was sick enough to be hospitalized for both pregnancies!
Not on BCP for either pregnancy......but have taken them since
and was not effected at all by the pill.
