I would like to host a swap: Altered CDs????

Post by Cowchippe » Sun, 15 Feb 2004 12:55:03

I would like some help in how to host a swap. Let me know if I am doing this
right.

I know what I would like is 2 groups of  6 people. Each person would make
and send  6 altered CDs and cost to cover shipping and handling to mail 5
CDs back to each of them. Each person would get back 5 CDs each.

The idea is: use old CDs, new CDs, aol cds, earthlink CDs, advertising CDs,
any kind of CD you want. paint it or cover it front and back with s***
paper and  at least one embellishment on the CD itself. You can add a hang
string,a tassel, or whatever to it.

I would like the sign up to begin now till March 1st. CDs will be due March
20th (and no later then 27th.)

Here are some links to altered CDs:
I  stole a few pictures from one of my groups and put them in my webshots
album for ya'll to see. I will remove them in a week or less.

http://www.FoundCollection.com/;under CDS

let me know if I ask for the swap right.

you can get clock kits and make clocks out of them if you want...  most
useful use I've seen... or make "friendship" plaques out of them....

I wonder that too but probably no heavier than some of the metal accents and
such.  <shrug>  Personally, probably wouldn't make one and use it... I have
enough trouble getting to scrapbook, let alone making a cd and then
scrapbooking with it! LOL

I really try to stay away from heavy things in my books. I think the
heaviest thing i have seen in a scrapbook, is in a CK issue about a year
ago, someone put a small bottle full of sand in their page. I really wanted
to see her put that page in her book and close the book! That is when i
realized that embellishments in scrapbooks were getting a little out of
hand!

did you see the page in MM with stones on it.  The article said the page
weighed over a pound!  Could you imagine?  You could end up with a book that
weighs 30 pounds.

I try to limit my metal usage, but gosh!  I just love that stuff! :)  I try
to keep it to a minimum on each page, and I don't put as many pages in a
book so it doesn't impress upon other pages.  Some of the stuff in the
magazines is waaaaayyyy too much for me these days.

I would like to host a swap: Altered CDs????

Post by King's Crow » Mon, 16 Feb 2004 03:05:52

Gosh I don't use things other than paper much and I think my pages are
pretty heavy.  I can't imagine using some of the stuff I see at the LSS.
Then did have some wonderful looking leather stickers last time I was in.
They tempted me, but I didn't buy any.

The gals had been to the HIA (what does that stand for) and were very
e***d about the new things coming namely using fabric in albums.
