As I understand it, they are completely new releases (new body tooling, new
motor, new frame, manufactured in China) of locomotives previously imported
by Atlas from Kato.

Revised body.  Wire grabs, but not really big changes.  New machinery.  Kato
used to contract build for Atlas.  Now the contract work is done is China.

I have 4 of the original Atlas U25Bs and 1 of the new U25B
Classics. The new shell has the couplers mounted on the pilots
instead of the trucks.  The cabs, hoods and the molded
plastic piece that includes the deck, rails and steps are inter-
changeable, but the frames, motors, drives, gears, and trucks
are of a different design. I don't know if these differences
apply to any other engine types.
