In 1990 Lionel made a GS-2 Daylight.  They can be had for $500-600.
They are going to produce another GS-4 for over $800.

My guess for the largest O gauge engine Lionel ever produced was the
full scale 6-8-6 S2 Steam Turbine made in 1991.  That one would set you
back about $1300. It weighs something like 18 to 20 pounds. The Reading
T-1 4-8-4 and the NYC 4-8-2 are also quite large.

Lionel has not produced any compound steam locomotives.  MTH has made
Big Boys, Challengers and now an AC Cab Forward in their high end (full
scale) line.  I know that they made a Rail King Challenger.

I know Lionel produced the #8307 SP Daylight in 1983 or so and they now
cost big bucks.  Has Lionel produced a Daylighter since then ?  Something
that I could buy at a reasonable (MUHAHAHAHA) price ?

Also, what was the largest O-scale loco ever produced by Lionel ?  Would it
be the 773 Hudson ?  Did they ever produce a UP Big Boy or Challanger ?  If
not, I would why ?  Has anyone else ever produced the BB in O-scale ?

thanks

You could try MTH, or wait for a new one from Lionel. Rumor has it (take
it for what its worth) that they will be doing it again soon.

Various third parties (probably Sunset/3rd Rail and MTH) have produced
both over the years.
