Horizon/Indy/ Saito.30

I thought I would share my experience with you all.
I bought a Saito .30 engine from Indy back in April. I found that the front
bearing seal was leaking, alot. Sent it back to Horizon in May, they send it
back to me and say it doesn't have a sealed bearing and it runs fine. I had
included a letter stating that the engine ran fine and that it just needed a
bearing because the seal leaked. All there literature states all their
engines have sealed front bearings. I call, they say they will install a
sealed bearing. I call before I send it in to make sure I send it in
correctly. I send it insured with a conformation request. They say they
don't have it. I say you received it on the 12 th of August, conformation
from USPS. I call them several times. They say Oh yah, we have it, it just
wasn't checked in. I have over one hour of long distance calls to them

engine ran great, it was just slinging oil out 90 degrees about 2 feet from
the engine and I didn't think this was correct. They still have not called
me to let me know the status and I will never purchase another product from
them if it is impossible to get them to honor the warranty. I don't care if
their engines are light or powerful, right now they just suck. They have a
very good cylinder and piston, but the rest of the tolerances suck. The rear
bearing spins in the case, there is a great deal of side to side play in one
of the rocker arms. You would not find these problems with O.S. four
strokes.
I'm sorry for the rant but I felt I had to share, I am feeling so jerked
off.

The sloppy tolerances I referred to in my post were on my Saito.91. Also
there are pits in the castings as well, inside the engine where the surfaces
are machined. I met one guy at our club who has a Saito 150 that has a large
crater in the intake on the head, I don't think that would be to good for
airflow. Maybe thats how they get the engines so light.

Horizon/Indy/ Saito.30

Indy has been jerking people around for years, I thought it might have
gotten better without the Goad boys at the helm, but I guess they are
still up to their same old s**t.  There are complaints on file with the
Indianapolis Chamber of Commerse, Better Business Bureau, and the State
Attorney General's Office for the time they tried F'ing with me in 91.

About four years ago, I let everyone here know what slezze bags the
Goads were. Young Jimmy responded and through some productive e-mail
discussions finally admitted their customer service needed overhauling
and sent me a GMS .47 engine as an apology. I guess they are back to the
old ways.

I suggest playing as dirty as they do.
