I recently obtained this motor with a Jack Stafford Commanchee
in a swap... The engine is boxed/turns nicely/unused.

What's it worth?

Can this open exhaust port be effectively muffled for
sport flying duty.  

What's the purpose of the butterfly baffle that rotates over
the exhaust port?  Back pressure maybe

Advise/insights please.

Dunno on this one, but it's not a rarity - World Engines imported a
bunch of them.

Sure. Probably have to find a *** muffler though.  As  I recall,
these engines didn't even have bolt holes for a muffler, and even if
they did, you would be hard pressed to find one.

That's right.  They don't idle worth a hoot without some backpressure.
