The first instruction is - don't post HTML if you want answers. Many
people will simply skip over the message rather than go through the
hassle of trying to make sense of it if they see HTML instead of
plain-text.

Further instructions on accessing the NG depend on HOW your friend
plans to access it - via a newsreader, (if so, which one) or via a
service such as deja.com.

I personally use "Agent" a news reader by Forte Advanced Management
Software Inc. It allows you to easily view html like you posted, among
many other things. If your friend is going to use Netscape
Communicaator or Internet Explorer I would suggest you use the "Help"
and look under Newsgroups. It's much too complex for  to lead you
through here and there is extensive info available through help.
Netscape even has a Mail & News setup wizard.

When you finally get to where the news groups is functioning he wants
to subscribe to rec.models.rc.air, of course.

Gordon,  I didn't know I was posting in html.  Sorry 'bout that.  Turned
it to
text format.  Thanks for the tip.
