Pen-making question

Pen-making question

I have a question about the "Flat Top" style fountain pens which have the
type of cap that snaps onto both ends of the pen. I am not real thrilled
with the design of these - I don't like the way the cap spins around after
it is snapped on.

I somehow got it to stay firmly in place on a couple of pens, but really
don't know why those two were different than the rest.  I have messed with
adjusting the nylon part in or out, etc., but except for those two pens, all
have  loose, "twirling" caps. These kits are from Berea Hardwoods. Anyone
have any magic solution to this problem? (Besides buying the kits with***
on caps, which I plan to do in the future.)
