Setting up work shop

Setting up a turning area in my garage.  It will be 12 X 12.  Any
suggestions on how to lay out my equipment: lathe, tools, sanding gear,
sharpening machine, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Fine Woodworking has a book on setting up shops. Highly recommended.

If you go to the WOOD magazine page <http://www.woodmagazine.com> and
follow the link to downloadable software there is a program that
lets you design your shop. You specify the size and then add tools.
The good thing about it is that if you don't like the design you can
just start over without breaking your back.

The program is shareware (pretty cheap too) and runs on window95.
(There might be other versions but I wasn't paying much attention
while getting the PC version)
