Document from Jefferson's collection on the "wine-grape"

Hi All,

I was doing a little research and stumbled upon an interesting document at
the Library of Congress' website. Have a look at the following link:
http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/P?mtj:1:./temp/~ammem_45eR::

It's more about viticulture, but thought some might find it an interesting
read none-the-less.

Sincerely,
Joe Turpin

Ah...sorry that link didn't work. The treatise mentioned in the letter you
found is the one to which I refer. It consists of two pages, which are:

http://memory.loc.gov/master/mss/mtj/mtj1/056/0000/0019.jpg

Beautifull penmenship in that letter, huh? The time taken to write neatly
does yield a more clear and concise expression of thought. I'm not saying
scrawling should be outlawed, it's just more like inspiration and doesn't
convey to anyone, but the author, the full measure of the thought behind it.

-Joe

I have a book on Jeffersons' writing related to wines, I'll get the
title and post when I get home.

It pays to browse those used book stores when traveling...
Regards,
Joe

The book is "Jefferson and Wine" by Richard de Treville Lawrence Sr.
published by the Vinifera Wine Growers Assoc. This one was signed by
the Author, that's why I know his first name.

It is a most unusual book.
Regards,
Joe

Joe, I have that book -- "Jefferson and Wine."  Jefferson is my
favorite man.  I just wanted to see the original, for Jefferson's
writing is most beautiful.
