Anyone know of a source for Magnum(?) size champenoise bottles? How big
are they anyway?....are they trouble?

A magnum is two winebottles, 1.5 liters.

The source for all champagne-style bottles is always the same. Weddings,
places that have weddings are always awash in bottles looking for a home.

Trouble ? Well, I do have a little trouble drinking one alone.

Not impossible....just difficult.
