RC Heli Flight Log Software ?

I am currently writing one.  It keeps track of your flights, aircraft, and
accessories such as engine, servos etc. When I started writing it all I
wanted was to track the number of flights from each of my aircraft. But then
I kept adding things so now you can track the charging of your batteries,
the number of flights at particular fields, the hours of operations an
engine has had, how much fuel you have purchased.

This is mainly for my own use but I will probably release it as shareware
at some point. I may need some beta testers ;)

Hi,

What language are you using?  I wanted to create something like this but do
not have the motivation to do it all from scratch ;(  Maybe I could give you
some help.

It would be pretty nice to take note at the field and transfert it back
automatically when you put it in it's craddle ;)  You could use the big
computer for viewing/using the data... I would be more than happy to give a
hand just for the fun of it ;)

I write in C++. I am using an Access database for storage but it also
supports SQL servers like MySQL or MS SQL. As for help I guess the best
thing is feedback on functionality. I would give it to people now but I keep
changing the database format. I do want not to give to people to start using
and then have a new version that is incompatible with all the data they have
entered. Once it has stabilized a bit I will put it on my web site.

Ah, YES, I am up for that.
Anyone could make improvements to it, if they wish.
I was thinking of writing one in PHP-GTK so that it
would work for those people using legasy "operating systems".
As well as those using the better OSs.

Integrating with most any SQL server would be a breeze that way.
PHP's bindings to the different SQL servers is great.
It shouldn't be too difficult to write a Palm app and the conduits
for it either.

And the number of flights you DIDN'T get because of all the time spent
logging all that "info".

I restrict ALL my logging to one session in the morning. Usually while I
read a heli mag:-) That leaves all the rest of the day to FLY.

RC Heli Flight Log Software ?

I have one using Access that I put together a year or so ago, I have sent it
out to several people on the newsgroup, please ask if you want it. Keeps
track of flights per heli/month/site etc. and can easily be extended to suit
your own needs.

It's there for the asking!
