Morley F1 60 setup help

Post by Davi » Fri, 31 Dec 1999 04:00:00

Hi can anybody help me with some info on the ccpm mixing setup on a right
hand rotation f1
I have a futaba FF8 set to swash mix SR-3  the cyclic movements are in the
right direction but to work the pitch the right way i have to reverse the
pitch curve to start at low pitch at the 100% and the high at 0% to get the
pitch to work the correct way
Is this the way to set it up right ?
Thanks David

Hi David

I don't know the FF8 at all but Tim Morris has both Standard and Super for
his F1-46 Max...

Only thing I can suggest is try reversing the pitch channel - the other
thing is, if it works, the hell with it... ;-)

BUT:  Have you got the main blades on the right way around - RHR mainrotor
rotates clockwise when viewed from above with blades rounded edges leading
PLUS mainblade operating arms should be toward the leading edge with the MAX
version...  (MAX heli can be switched to either side...)

Thus:  Finally - is this a standard F1-60 except for RHR..?  If so then the
swashplate needs to go _downward_ to increase pitch and vice versa  'cause
the mainblade holders will be on the _trailing_ edge - you can't swop the
head round from the standard LHR setup with the old plastic head centre...
No problem BTW - that's how I flew my F1-46 for quite a while before the MAX
parts were available, the servo(s) pull for pitch with any standard setup
whilst inverted anyways...

I hope all that lot is clear enough..?

Ciao...

Nick...

Could it be that you have to reverse the Pitch servo?  I realize that
with CCPM all three servos move for collective pitch change, but that's
what it sounds like to me.  Suggest you get Don Edberg's excellent book
about programming the Futaba 8UHFS and 8UHPS.  He really explains
everything in detail.

Hi,

I had the same problem on my F1, and reversing the pitch channel made the
pitch go right, but the cyclic worked the wrong way. I use an JR 3810, and
to make the pitch work right I had to set the Swash Mix.  As default
Elevator, Aileron and Pitch are all set to 60%. Setting the Swash mix for
the pitch to -60% instead made everything work the way it should.

Hope this helps.

Johan

Sorry for the delay, I've checked and can report back.

If you have the MAX version with the composite carbon/alloy head, make sure
that you have the blade holders installed the right way up. They should be
upside down, so that the bolts are installed from the underside. If it is
the standard head then go into the SWASH menu and change pitch from +50
to -50. I think that the standard head is designed so that max pitch is
obtained with the swashplate at its lowest point of travel, but I'm not sure
as I've never had one. If you need more help then feel free to email me.
