Hirobo GPH 346 Question

Post by SSchulz7 » Tue, 24 Jun 1997 04:00:00

I have just purchased a GPH 346. Does anyone have any information on any
problems they have encountered with the heli? Any suggestions on what to
look for on building, or on setup would be greatly appreciated.

I will be running an OS 46 FX-H with a hatori muffler. Also any comments
on how this heli flies would also be appreciated.

                                                 Thanks
                                                          Scott

hi Scott,
I have used a GPH since october last year. My experienses are good so
far. The only problems I had was a rather sloppy rotorhead. There was
a lot of lateral play both in paddle bar and feathering axle. I used
some shims to solve this problem.
There has been reported some incidents with bladeholde brakage. I have
installed the metal bladholder upgrade. (They came complete with shims
to fix lateral play)

The GPH is a very pleasant heli to fly, it hovers great and does nice
acro. It's even a very capable 3D machine when you remove the weights
in the flybars.

The OS46FX-H is a good choice, I have the "old" OS46 and are a little
underpowered. I installed the Hatori 400 pipe and thisng got better.

The new engine with tunepipe wold be awsome!

Ok guys, I went to a magazine for this one. The blade gripas split and
seperate and there are problems with the linkages on the swingarms..there
were a few problems with quality of parts when it first came out, but
otherwise it is ok. I beleive there was a problem with the started system.
I have the article on fiela and anm going to read through it...e-me to
check up on it..

scott, i have the g p h and you will not be sorry that you purchased this
great flying machine . just follow the directions and it will fly great .
try not to stray fron the factory setup,as this will make it very
sensitive. i set mine up with the servo horns at 12 mm instead of 10 mm
and the helo would do a hovering roll if you just touched the sticks
needless to say i reset them back to 10 mm . the factory pitch curves are
right on the money. the 46 and the hatori run great on 15% nitro ,i had
some problems with 30% nitro as this motor will need a head shim to run

feld guy, the blade grip problem you describe was only on the early early
[1995} kits . hirobo has updated the grips and these have cured any
problem . the one problem i am familiar with involved a g p h that was
crashed then the person put on a very heavy set of blades the helo
exploded . the weight of the blades was total unacceptable for a 46 size
machine . i have had a g p h and also know many people who fly these great
machines {jeff green the field rep from altech is a personal friend of
mine } and none of us have had any problems ,and i run a pretty high head
