help adjusting YS .61 ST

Hello everyone.

I just bought a used Xcell 60 which came with a new YS .61 ST engine (the
old style).  I also have a U-shaped tuned pipe.  I'm having problems getting
the motor to run properly.

I understand that the big needle is the hover needle and the small needle is
the high end needle.  Is this correct?  Also there's a big brass knob on the
bottom of the engine.  What does it do and how do I adjust it?

I've set the hover needle and the small needle the best I could, but the
engine is still running kind of funny.  When I bring the throttle to idle,
the engine takes a long time to settle down into a 4 stroke idle.  It seems
as through the idle mixture is way too lean.  I'm not sure if it's the
needles or the fact that I'm using a tuned pipe.    Please help.

Tony,
the motor you have have is not an ST, but the old long stroke YS 61 H.
Never ran this motor on a pipe, but
I did run it on a Hatori 666 and it ran fine, if I used an flight mixture
control, other than that it would go lean in a transition to hover to hover
from forward flight.
