Ok, I have been told by everyone here that the Raptor is the best for
the money.  Now, I have also been told only to buy a heli that you can
get spare parts for EASILY.   Are the Raptor parts available in the
Toronto area or through the internet??  Does anyone kknow.

Also,  I remember someone saying to go with the 49 BB version.  But that
only comes assembled.  Is the 29 BB version good enough??  Or will it
end up costing me more after I assemble like planes.??

Assembled (Canada) 49BB/36 TT = 599 ----  I was told can't get an OS
instead of TT.
Raptor 29BB Kit = 399.

Gr8 lakes sells the raptor 49 with engine in the U.S. for 350.
I doubt it's that much more if you're in canada.

Cant remember the url, but it's on my web page under links.

A & J Hobbies, National Hobby, Pinnacle Hobby all carry Raptor spares. If
none of 'em have what you need you can order just about anything from
www.ecmc.com or through A & J Hobbies (ask for Arden) with a 1 week turn
around.

A & J currently has the 29BB kit in stock for $349. The 49BB comes with the
engine - I ditched the TT36 after endless fiddling for an OS 32 SX-H for
most of this season, but may try the TT36 again this weekend with an OS 6B
carb.

If you don't mind building the 29BB kit, the 49BB upgrade and an OS 32 SX-H
would be the way to go. If you decide to get the 49BB ARF you'll probably
have to replace the engine or at least the carb unless you are very lucky.

Where do you fly? I fly at both the Ajax Club (Hwy7 & Brock) and the Toronto
RC Heli Club (Mississagua).

Good luck.

Or will it
end up costing me more after I assemble like planes.??

Helicopters are more complete than airplane kits.
You dont need any acsessories like with the planes
(fueltank,pushrods,coveringand & all the rest)

Yes, along with every other helicopter. <g>

Dunno, probably.

Probably not, but it's simpler and cheaper.

So long as you get the ARF or are very patient.  The manual is a bit
skimpish when it comes to things such as words.  But if you like
exploded views, go for it.

Speaking of crashes:( don't do it. If you do one thing about the Raptor is that
you can replace the entire heli for a little over $200 to 250 if you shop
around. Thats always a reasonable option (compared to rebuilding my Excell 60)
if you find you can't get all the spares you need. Try that with any other heli
that will do 3D out of the box with no mods.

Happy flying.
