GPH 346 tail problem. Help!

Post by Shum Chi Hun » Sat, 04 Oct 1997 04:00:00

I have brought the GPH346 limited edition which contained all the G
parts upgrade. Eventually, I put it together and run up the engine.
However, I discovered that the tail blade stall and stop when I give
full right rudder. A local hobby shop even told me that there was cases
that the tail housing fall apart and advised me to convert it to belt
drive or exchange a metal tail housing. I am quiet suspicous with his
suggestion and thought that Hobbo should not designed something carp. Up
till now, I have not take the heli into air jet. Any body have any
suggestion to me?

Sam

I think the drive to the tail must be slipping. Try turning the tail
by hand - slow down or hold the main rotor if you need to - and try
and see what is loose. Don't try to fly it until it works as expected.

GPH 346 tail problem. Help!

Hi Sam,

If it only stall at full right rudder, check that your servo is not
binding and causing tail pitch plate to push against the housing.
The double link pin  CAN TOUCH the tail pitch lever at
extreme right... try and see if this is the case.
There has never been problem with tail housing falling apart
over here. But the plastic tail gear set INSIDE are made to
BREAK even at slightest tail blade touching the ground!! If you have
even slightest accident.... take the housing apart and
check the gears..... or else it will  "fall apart"!!

Just thought this might help.....

Cheers,
