Eco 8 Help

Eco 8 Help

Post by AR » Mon, 29 Jan 2001 17:59:33

A friend of mine is setting up a new Eco 8 & is having trouble finding a
suitable motor for 6cells. I have a Eco with the Sport motor & it works well
on 6 cells & gives good duration. He doesn't want to spend that much money.
Does anybody know what the specs on the sport motor are?  eg turns & winds.

Thanks
A

Simply pick up a 17-20 turn RC car motor....the Ikarus Sport motor is somehwere
in the 19-21 turn range.  Its actually just a $30 car motor they sell WAY
overpriced!  Speed Gems make excellent motors with bearings and are nly $30.  I
suggest 7 or 8 cells MUCH more over 6 though.  I never have seen an ECO fly
well on 6....

Don't they suggest a Kyosho Mayheen here?

That's what I have been using. It will give you about 4-5 mins. hover at
2 Ahr on 6 cells.

I also have a speed gems which is a lot more powerful than the Kyosho,
but I suspect I need 7 or 8 cells.

You may have to invest in a new gear or two to get the head speed just
right.
