How to open Panasonic RF-626 transistor?

Not sure if this radio's old enough for this group, but I recently picked
up a Panasonic RF-626 AM/FM transistor set at a thrift store for a
few bucks. It looks just like the one on this web page:

  http://www.transistor.org/collection/panasonic/panasonic25.html

Unfortunately even with a fresh battery there is no reaction when the
set is switched on.  There is no obvious way to open this thing up to
check inside, just a small battery hatch on the bottom. Anyone know how
to open this set without destroying it?

I don't know that specific radio, but cases of that style are held
together in a couple of ways - pull off the tunng knob and look for
***underneath - failing in that, the front will come off to release
the case, it will be held in by lock tabs that if you only knew where
they were you could press on with a very thin blade - sometimes you can
feel where they are if you are careful and pry gently
