I am trying to find out the value of a 1942 Zenith 12H689. I have one. Everything on it is original and it still works. Only plays AM classical and Spanish music.

Is that like "it was owned by an old lady who only drove it to church on
Sundays", as if more serious music would have damaged it?

Or is it defective, it can't play anything but classical or Spanish music?

Not worth much if it won't pick up WSM on cold winter nights.

Seriously and don't take it personal, consoles these days do NOT yield much in value except for some high end sets like the Zenith Stratospheres.  Yours is a nice Zenith I must admit, but it's not top of the line as others may agree. Look for around $50 give or take in my opinion.  I do allot of online shopping these days, not buying.  Don't get the impression by others trying to sell their consoles for $700 or more that is what yours is worth.  Those people are dreamers.  If you find that hard to believe, watch those ads on Ebay, Craig's list, ect and see if they actually sell them.  On the good side, yours is working and in good condition.  In all don't expect the value today to be any more of $75, a rough estimate.

It's an old Zenith radio/phono console with the early (and abandoned) FM
band. Also loaded with rotting *** coated wire. Even though it is a
shutter dial, I'd still say $75 is very much in the ball park.
