hard to se who is first.
So We are looking for the various solutions to count laps.
We are not professionals so the systems we found on the web are too
expensives for us.

So what woks the best for you?

(I apologize for my english)

The cheap way is to get a board with a bunch of mechanical
'clicker counters' (don't know the proper name, but they're little
devices with a thumb lever which rolls a counter on by one each
time you press it).

Then, you get a volunteer to sit at the start line and press
the counter for each car as it passes.  If things are getting
hectic, you need two people - one to call the car numbers, and
the other to press buttons.

I've seen several clubs run that way, to start with.

You can do something very similar with a simple computer program
(QBasic will do) using the number keys on the keyboard.  That
could have a race timer built in, too.
