I personally wouldn't buy the Matt Francis for running as a on road vehicle.
I've got a 1/18 Mini T Pro which is a just a scaled down XXXT and it handles
pretty ***on the road, even with the CF chassis, alloy suspension arms,
titanium turn buckles, BL 8000kv motor, 3S Li-Po's and foam on road tyres.
Its great in a straight line as long as I keep the wheels on the ground. It
also probably doesn't help trying to turn it at 60+ kph. At slow speeds it
suffers greatly from under steering with the power on and then instantly
over steers with the power off. Correcting it is impossible, maybe I need
one of the D-box's from HPI for it, but trying to make a 2wd truck that was
made to have long suspension travel for use off road just doesn't work very
well on road.
If you want something that can be run both indoors and outdoors why not look
at a Tamiya Impreza TL01, TT01 or similar in kit form. This will give you
the opportunity to build a car and help you understand the workings of these
things a little better. The other thing is that parts and hop-ups are
extremely cheap and readily available for most Tamiya cars.
Just my 2 cents worth.
