Midnight 2 vs. Modifed motor

The ruby will outrun the midnight 2.  I have a Midnight2 and a "cheap" 16x2
modified, the mod is clearly faster.   My midnight isn't completely broken
it, but I don't think it will get fast enough to catch up..

in my experience, gearing a 16 turn modified like my stock motors
definitely has the speed and then some...i'd compare it to running my 23's
and 13's...as for runtime on 2000's, i'd last about 6-7 minutes on just
playing around, and about 5- 6 min. racing.  if runtime is'n a factor, then
that's the direction you wanna go....i always recommend the stock motors
though,  htey are more turns, but not necessarily slower....knowing the
power band of you stocker will put you in the right gear ratio resulting in
a really fast car, also, less maintaince.  depending on what you wanna do
with it,  you'll definitely get the speed with the mod, but for more
reliability, get the stock...BANZAI motors make really good motors, both
srtock and mod, with both the old midnight cans as well as the new midnight
2's.  theyt have really good customer support and would answer any

the right direction.

Any decent modified motor worth it's bearings will be better than
the best dyno-tuned and peaked stock motor.  Get the SpeedGem 2
motors... good stuff for $28.

Midnight 2 vs. Modifed motor

A friend of mine had a Speed Gems 16x3 in his BossCAT a few years ago and
it was superb.  It was very nearly a match for the TOP Missile 14x2 in my
Top Force, was so reliable he ran it till it died of old age and was pretty
efficient too.  (The TOP motors are also excellent value for money...)
