I've got a bunch of older 540's that still run ( I put a bit of voltage
thru 'em to check if they " turn over ", nothing more ) and I'm wondering
whats the best way to clean them , short of popping the can-tabs . I don't
race , so being ROAR-legal aint the problem . I've just had magnets de-lam
on me , and I'd rather not mess about with motor-innards .
I know ya " dip " 'em to break 'em in , so by using a different liquid
( like Gunk or another engine cleaner-degreaser ) as the bath , can the
motor be rehabilitated ( I know it wont be as good as new ) I also know
I'll have to re-lube the comm-shaft bearings , whats the best ? I've got
a can of Dura-Lube , hows that ? Thanks .
