Dremel 4" model - ANOTHER AUCTION SPAMMER

For everybody who says auctions are okay - this is the type of BULLSHIT the
rest of us are talking about.  This spammer crossposted to 12 newsgroups with
post.

THIS IS WHY MANY OF US HATE EBAY AND ALL THESE G.D. AUCTION POSTS !

If the guy was selling this dremel saw and he cross posted to 12 newsgroups,
would
-that- be considered spam? Would it have been better if he typed in caps and
posted 5 times to each newsgroup? Would you rather he not offer his dremel
to some people that need it? Auctioning is good not bad....I will quote what
I wrote in the past posts...
#1 on the list doens't have to do with this post...
#2 If someone spends too much money well then thats THEIR fault, before you
bid on something you check how much it sells elsewhere, its called being an
educated consumer!

#3 Ebay is a bunch of people trying to make a couple million, not a couple
bucks like rndracing.com

If someone sells something for too little, well then that's THEIR fault,
they should have found out how much it was worth before they put it up on
the auction!

I rarely see the same item posted twice on rec.models.rc.land, you post it
once, so that people say, "oh, look, that guy's auctioning something i want,
maybe i can get a good price on it." so the guy goes and bids and after a
few days he says, "oh look, the price is above what i can get it for
elsewhere, i think i'll stop bidding." Then some guy that has a lot of cash,
or can't get it for the low price that, that one guy could will bid higher
and get it.

How many times do people go to an auction and get something for a good
price? a good amount of times i'd say.

anyways...you people get my point

excuse you flamer (shit for brains..interesting terminology). I started at
#2 so you had nothing to say in response to that and i had a good amount
after #3 which you had nothing to say to either. Oh no i didn't edit
everything out, i'm so sorry (extreme sarcasm).

No need to excuse me, I need no excuses I just thought you would like that,
kind of sums you up huh.  :-(

You are SORRY, I agree with you whole heartedly there . . .

Your points before #3 are meaningless jabber, and your points after #3
were also meaningless jabber.  I just found it amusing how you contradicted
yourself.  By the way with your head so far up your ass how can you breathe
much less get your foot into your mouth? :-()  Besides any point you make is
your feeling, ideas, & opinions and I do not agree.  My ideas and opinions
tell me that any EBAY auction ***is spam here on the RMRL NG IMO.  If
Dremel saw man posted a single post to 12 model NGs that he has a saw for
sale great, this is what this place is for<hobbyist to get together> in my
opinion but when you invite the devil<EBAY> into our newsgroup this is SPAM
***! ! !

I will be waiting for you to respond and stick your shoe in your mouth again
. . .

If you would read what that post was in response to you would realize that I
do not contradict myself and that everything I said was to the point. "By
the way with your head so far up your ass how can you breathe much less get
your foot into your mouth?" I think that pretty much sums up your maturity
level...".  If Dremel saw man posted a single post to 12 model NGs that he
has a saw for sale great..." That's not what I said...I said cross posted a
sale...not single posted...If someone is in a rush and they need to post to
multiple newsgroups quickly they crosspost and hope the flamers keep their
mouths shut.

Anyway this should probably be carried out in email, but it's about auctions
in this newsgroup so it has some bearing on rcing. Yes, I do realize that by
responding to this immature flamer I am instigating him to respond and
continue flaming...

it sure would.  He had two elements of spam, he cross posted and he had
something to sell.

What does caps have to do with it.  It's still be spamming.

A title that read FS: or FA: whould have been better - the title slicky avoided
that so that more people woulkd read it.

I'm gonna have to agree with you there, although i like auctioning, saying
something is for sale when it's really for auction is misleading...FA in
front of the subject probably would have prevented all this...

Time for me to jump up and staunchly disagree with you on two points
which you are dead wrong.

Point #1: Crossposting does not have a single thing to do with spam
directly and certainly not this post in particular.  What it does
represent is a user that is too lazy to post the item in the
appropriate NG(s) and a lack of understanding of the negative
implications that crossposting invites.  Such as the unwanted
followups in unrelated and unsuspecting groups.  Or the followup in
one group in the thread that never gets seen by the others it could
have been valuable to.  Plus the little fact that _actual_ "spam
farmers" who are parsing some groups for e-mail addresses and you end
up getting on a spam list for having your e-mail address peeled out of
a reply to a crossposted thread.  Me personally, I use a reader that
alerts me to crossposts so I am not subject to this last part like a
lot of people who use browsers for NGs.

He was being a smartass to your post which was basically whining and
not being constructive to the offending poster anyways.

Point #2: This would be nice but there were the words "for sale" in
the subject line.  Now if this is too tough to figure out, I don't
know what else to tell you.  Bottom line if they post in the subject
line, a) the item in question, and b) FS, FA, or spell out for sale or
for auction and you are not interested... move along.

As for the saying something is for sale when it is up for auction
thing... there's a judgement call.  If you think about it, something
up for auction is truly up for sale as well... to the highest bidder.
Not a whole lot of deception involved there as you are content on
implying.

You are so against ebay and auctions I can help but wonder how badly
you got screwed, or on how many deals to make you feel this way.  I
have had nothing but great experiences and purchased some killer stuff
through ebay that would have otherwise been unavailable.

All well and good, just keep it contained at the Ebay website where it
belongs.  Usenet groups are topic oriented---this one happens to be
<rec.models.rc.land> NOT <rec.buy.at.Ebay>.  If you want to sell some RC
car stuff here, put a price on it and offer it up, but baiting for the
deepest pockets is not welcome from my perspective.  Nothing personal.
