Why is engine quitting?

I got the engine running on my friends old Losi car, but once in a while it
will quit.  It doesn't sound like it runs out of gas, it happens way faster
than that, it just stops.  We checked the glow plug, and it glows good, but
is there another way to check it or another thing about it we should check?

This could be a potentially long thread!  Since you said that it happens
suddenly, does it occur when you spin out, quickly decelerate or hit the
brakes?  If it does, then it probably is a combination of idle being set too
low, brakes on and clutch not releasing.....or a BAZILLION other things which
will inevitably be thrown at you in the next 4 days. Good Luck!

Are you using old fuel?  Try using some fresh fuel.  I was running mine
yesterday and had the exact same problem.  It would crank fine, idle
great, but when I got on the throttle hard it would run for 2 seconds
then stop dead leaving it coasting quietly across the yard.  I finally
bought a new gallon of fuel and it runs great now.

Hope this helps,
Jason
