How did you like that charger? I'm was thinking about buying that type sometime
in the very near future.

Anyone in here have a peak charger for sale?

I have one, liked it the first time I used it, then the burning plastic
smell came, and I was using it in a building that was around 55F with a
small fan on it.  The charger tends to run rather hot, and the are holes are
rather small.  I normaly run this under a stationary fan, to keep it cool at
anything over 3.0A.  When it is alowed to set it's self,  it tends to pic a

amps it turned off after 10 minutes from thermal overload, never got it to

falsed on everthing but a Turbo30...   riped it apart found the cell)

One mager downer, you can't turn off the trickle charger... when you here
the peep you got to get your NiMH pack's.

I still like it for slow and low charges, but oyu have to use it outside, or
you be looking for what is burning.

There is a review of it on RC Central:

http://www.rccentral.com/article.asp?ATCL_ID=50

The main drawback of this charger is the heat and I've heard a couple of
instances of heat related failures.

Thanks guys for the heads up on the melt down issue. Maybe I should keep
looking but that price was hard to beat for the features. I should have known
that something had to be wrong.
I'd be using it mainly for my nitros but I can't rule out throwing some sub-Cs
on it once in awhile.

Ya know what, people in the group deserve the straight facts! Good or bad,
here or there, they want the facts and I do also.

I want to thank Leo for that interesting and intelligent review or the Super
Brain 949. I agree, it has some very nice features for the money.
I was about to look for a different brand of charger but after reading Leo's
review I think I "will" buy a Super Brain 959 charger.
If I have any heat issues you can bet I'll post them here, but I don't believe
it will be an issue for me.

I'm sorry Leo and Lee. I meant Lee Cao's review of the 959 charger not Leo.
Today is one of those days. <shakes head in discust>

i also have this charger, one of two that i use, and i must be lucky because
i havent had
a single problem with it.
the way it gets used is this...race night, i have three trucks to charge
for. two of them emaxx's.
three heats and a main.  twenty batteries a night. running pretty well right
on the heels of one another.
not a problem yet. nor the burning smell.
but, if something changes ill post up about it.
