June brought Leah Fairbanks to Glendales Glass Palette to teach a
workshop on Lampwork Glass
Beads hosted by Don McKinney.
An award-winning artist and teacher, Leah has participated in
numerous exhibitions and shows and
her art-pieces are displayed in galleries throughout the United States.
Leah began her work with glass in 1982. She attended glass
courses at the Pilchuck Glass School in
Washington and at Colton in Oregon. She explored and pushed the limits of
the medium, creating stained
glass windows, neon, and fused glass. Since 1992 Leah has been committed
to the art of lampworked
glass beadmaking. The depth of her artistry is documented by the
visually rich beads, the jewelry, and all
other pieces of her creation.
She is best known in international glass bead circles for her
predilection for garden-motif
compositions and even more for her goddess and angel creations.
Leah Fairbanks will return to AZ for another great class in Oct. hosted
by The Glass Palette in Glendale, AZ.
