Bought Some Lampwork Beads in San Mateo!

Bought some fantastic beads today at the San Mateo Gem and Jewelry show.
Went to Ellen Kahn-Fagan's table to drop off some more beads of mine - and
ended up spending WAY too much for beads by other beadmakers LOL!
Bought 3 of Ginger's beads - a dragon (my nephew was born in the year of the
dragon), a Mercat (like a mermaid - how unique!), and a bead that isn't
transparent or iridized; instead, it's an opaque tube that has a vine/garland
winding up around the tube --- and on it are several red & white blossoms
(poinsettas?), and at the top is a hummingbird just touching the vine -
yahoooooo!
Then I got a luscious George O'Grady bead - where he's fumed in HUGE dots of
real gold!  Then one of the cat aquarium beads - where a black cat and a white
cat are peering into a goldfish bowl!
Then some of Steve (?) beads - made from pyrex, and iridized, there's one that
looks like folds of fabric heart shape, and another that looks like spun
spiderwebs over a round globe!
Also one of ? beads - shaped like a long calla lily tube!
It was SO funny and fun to be there - to meet other beadmakers and designers
and bead society folks and bead shop owners --- and to realize what fun people
I've met through beadmaking!  I hope everyone forgives me for NOT remembering
their names - I do remember their faces.  Even met one woman (marjorie????) who
was in my first beadmaking class in '95 --- and what's funny, is that she
remembered my face once she saw me again; but she'd been hearing
my name (loosely usen I'm sure among bead people!) and could put a face to the
name finally!
You've got to be fast buying a bead you like!  One woman was looking at a fused
glass pendant made by her partner - shaped like a cat face it was clear with
dichro stripes in it (that changed depending on the color it was placed
against).  She went away to look at some other stuff - and another woman bought
it.  That was the pendant that will be /is featured on the poster for Crystal
Myth's 1998 Best BEad Show in Tuscon (It's in the upper right
corner of the poster).
Kahn-Fagan's table is almost being covered with bead artists!  She's in San
Mateo through Nov. 30, and then the weekend of Dec. 14, I believe she'll be
selling again in San Diego.
OKAY - since I bought so many beads - please buy some of mine (Big Grin here
LOL).  Check out my web site at:  http://members.aol.com/codyhaha/index.html
